All recipes used for our cakes and cookies have been perfected and passed down through the generations. “Oma” is the German name for “grandmother.“ My grandmother was a terrific cook and baker, and she, along with my mother – who is also a great baker - passed their knowledge and experiences on to me. I want to honor these terrific women in my life who taught and guided me, hence the name OMA’s Austrian Cakes & Cookies.
My name is Sonja Maccaline, and I am the proud owner of OMA’s Austrian Cakes & Cookies. I was born and raised in Austria and received my chef training at a prestigious Austrian culinary school. After moving to the United States in 1992, I settled with my family in Northbridge, MA. My husband and our families and friends have encouraged me for years to turn my passion into my business, and this dream has now come true.

Vienna was the capital of this mighty empire, and the emperor received gifts of the best foods and goods from all over his lands.
